Spending time with my son

Today I went shopping with my son and had a wonderful time.  I cherish the moments that he actually says more than a few words and today was one of those times.  Our conversation flowed, we laughed, and actually entered more than one store to find the perfect vest.  When my son went in the dressing room  I was trying to figure out what was different and realized it was me.  I wasn't focused on the things that didn't get completed, the dishes in the sink, or the other things that needed to be accomplished tomorrow.  I was  simply living in the moment and appreciating the time I was spending with a wonderful young man, my son.

  1. How wonderful! Living in the moment can be difficutl, but rewarding. I need to slow down and love in the moment more!

  3. Glad you had a great time with your son, sometimes I forget to slowdown and enjoy the moment. Flying home at the end of April to see my family and hope to live in the moment as well.

  4. That's great. It sounded like you and your son had some real bonding time and those memories are priceless. It's okay to let him slip on the dishes every now and then :)

  6. I have to tell you a story about shopping with my daughter....she was maybe 3 years old....we were at the grocery store checking out....the clerk was probably in her late 20's and speedy as can be....my daughter grabbed the two bags of chips we had in the cart and handed them to the clerk....as the clerk made eye contact with my daughter my daughter handed her the chips and said "bitches"....which was her pronounciation for "chips"....the clerk looked at me and was stunned at what came out of her mouth....she asked my daughter what she said and again my daughter handed her the chips and said "bitches"....we both laughed uncontrollably....KIDS SAY THE DAMNDEST THINGS!!!!

  7. I love your story!! I have a 1 1/2 year old son and it seems like he was just born yesterday. My husband and I go home every night and just watch him build things, play with shoes or just run crazy around the house. My favorite part is when he runs back and forth from me to my husband giving us kisses. I know before too long he is going to be too big to kiss us.
